British Invade Texas

One of my favorite blogs is Hugh MacLeod’s GapingVoid. Hugh’s schitck is to draw insightful cartoons on the back of business cards (and providing marketing insight). He’s currently in Alpine,TX, Hugh lives in London which is a world away from west Texas. It reminded me of my college rugby teammate, "Billy from England" (not to be confused with Billy from the Army). Billy used to tell us he only drank beer in the states because the tea was awful. So here’s my Hugh MacLeod inspired business card cartoon.

Texas Tea

I am a little bummed I missed my opportunity to get an original Hugh cartoon when I was at SXSW this week but maybe I will catch him next year.

When I first started teaching Tivoli in Austin we were getting a lot of first-time-to Texas Europeans and this created a serious morning coffee situation. If you are not aware most, Europeans like coffee very-very strong and Americans not so much. The end result is that I had the secretary create two pots of coffee every morning… 1) Coffee for Americans and 2) Coffee for Europeans.
